Getting to Know
Of the various programs, the faculty and residents seemed most satisfied at Baptist. I was looking for a place where people got along well, had a good sense of humor and took their work and study seriously.
I enjoy the free zoo admission on Tuesdays.
I enjoy running, road cycling, camping, gardening and cooking.
I find radiology enjoyable because of the tremendous variety. I like working with disease processes you can see, measure, manipulate, biopsy, cannulate, tag, trace, etc. The gratification of meeting a patient’s / consultant’s needs is quite rapid compared to other specialties. I like the challenge of considering imaging differentials, the novelty of anatomic variation, and of course having access to incredibly sophisticated equipment that can look into any area of the body necessary.
The residents, faculty, nurses, technologists, and program coordinator do a great job of making you feel like a welcome, respected and valued member of the team. The quality of education, work environment, and generous support for academic materials / meetings / books makes being a resident here pretty awesome.
