Getting to Know
I was looking for a community-type program that would prepare me for a high-volume private general radiology practice.
As a resident you feel like you are THE radiologist. Staff are there for backup but they are always supportive and have your back. The learning curve was steep but after two years of residency, I felt ready to handle 90% of the things I will encounter as a general radiologist.
I like Memphis for the low cost of living and the good BBQ. It’s also not too cold here.
I enjoy golfing and fishing.
The internal moonlighting is a big draw. Every program is going to have you work evenings and weekends but getting paid for them is a nice bonus.
The program is high volume, but I feel prepared for the real world.
