How can I apply?

Qualified applicants must submit an application through ERAS (AAMC’s Electronic Resident Application Service) before December 1st in order to be considered for the following academic year beginning July 1st. Learn more about the application process, and other information for applicants.

When is the interview deadline?

Interviews are offered typically by the end of September into October. Applications loaded late after this period may not reviewed because interview spots fill quickly. Interviews begin in early October and continue through the mid-January.

What is the interview process?

For each interview date, there are typically four interview slots. The day of the interview, applicants should arrive at 7:00 a.m. The interview process begins at 7:30 a.m., with conference at noon. A tour of the facility follows conference and the interview process is completed between 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Do I need any recommendation letters?

Yes, three letters of recommendation are required.

Where should I stay while I am in Memphis interviewing?

The closest hotel is the Hampton Inn, which is located at 33 Humphreys Center in Memphis. The Hampton Inn is located near Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis.

Will I meet any of the current residents?

Yes, we hold an Applicant’s Dinner the night before the interview. One or two current residents host the dinner, which includes transportation. The dinner usually starts at 6:00 p.m. The dinner gives the applicants an opportunity to discuss the program with current residents in a more relaxed and informal environment.
